    Topic question:

    Underage marriage in South Kalimantan remains high even though it is regulated by law. How can we increase public awareness regarding this issue?

    Submission period: January 7-27, 2026

     

    South Kalimantan is currently facing a human resource crisis due to high rates of underage marriage. These figures fluctuate above the national average, consistently placing the region among the top 10 provinces with the highest child marriage rates in Indonesia. The term Kawin Anum (early marriage) refers to a situation where one or both parties have not yet reached the age of 19.

    Terms and Conditions

    1. This competition is free of charge.
    2. The competition involves expressing opinions, providing alternative solutions accompanied by a photo with a narrative min 100 words, and a photo quality of up to 10 MB.
    3. Participants must be individuals.
    4. Participants will be divided into 2 categories: students and general/public.
    5. The work must not contain elements of SARA (ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group relations), pornography, and must not violate the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE).
    6. Participants upload their work on the website www.basakalimantanwiki.org by clicking Respond on the shelf “Underage marriage in South Kalimantan remains high even though it is regulated by law. How can we increase public awareness regarding this issue?”
    7. The work will be judged based on idea, and written work in 3 languages (Banjar, Indonesian, and English).
    8. The competition runs January 7th until January 27th, 2026.
    9. Jury assessment will take place from February 2-5, 2026.
    10. Winners will be announced on February, 2026.
    11. Participants must follow the IG/Fb account @basakalimantanwiki to stay updated on Wikithon Public Participation information.
    12. Judging will be conducted by a competent jury in their respective fields, and the jury’s decision is final.
